TRANSPORT SERVICES:

Our clients will normally come to us as they need or want a little more support than just transport. This may be due to illness, a disability or reduced mobility.

We can provide support from your front door to the car by way of a linked arm support or just the reassurance of knowing someone is with you.

Our volunteers can accompany you to appointments if you wish. It can be particularly useful if you are a little anxious about remembering everything or just feel you would like someone with you.

We provide transport to: daycentres, luncheon clubs, appointments, shopping, leisure activities etc.

BEFRIENDING:

We have both male & female volunteers who have a wide variety of interests but all have one thing in common, they enjoy chatting & making new friends. For our clients who can't get out, they're a lifeline. Our volunteers can visit you at home, & make visits to nursing homes & hospitals.

It's also an opportunity to ensure that you have everything you need. If you can't get out this can be difficult.

SHOPPING:

Our volunteers can either go shopping with you, i.e. go around the store if you feel you would benefit from someone with you.

Or they can do your shopping for you and deliver it to your home. You would normally 'phone the office with your shopping list (or we can 'phone you). If you need help making your shopping list, we can do that too.

PRESCRIPTIONS & LIBRARY BOOKS:

Our volunteers can pick up & deliver to you, your prescriptions & your library books.

SMALL D.I.Y. JOBS & KEYSAFES':

Our volunteers can help you with small d.i.y. jobs. We can also install a keysafe.

KYLEMORE LUNCHEON CLUB & KYLEMORE CLUB FOR THE BLIND & PARTIALLY SIGHTED

Both clubs are listed in the 'What's on guide'.

 Our Services...

If we can support you, we will but first we will need to carry out an assessment. This just means one of our Care Officers (usually either Linda Sheldon or Thelma Watt) will visit you and have a chat to you and see how and if we can help. It's very informal and just ensures that we are able to help you and so we can ask for any information that may be useful to our volunteer.

Please be assured that any information you give us will be held in the strictest confidence and will only be used to ensure that we provide you with the best possible service.
