Helplink began many years ago as a Good Neighbour Scheme, formed by Heswall & District CVS.
By 1994 the scheme, having proved it's worth signed a contract with Wirral Borough Council and began to grow steadily.
In 2000, the scheme had expanded considerably and it was time to move up to the next level. The scheme was registered as an independent charity under the name Helplink Community Support.
Helplink, as it's name suggests is a Community Support scheme, operating to Wirral Community Care Charter standards & offers practical help & support by providing assistance which will help maintain or improve the ever important quality of life for it's clients. The Staff & Trustees work hard to ensure that the charity continues to meet the increasing demand for community support in the Wirral area. We have also built up a network of contacts so even if we can't help, we may know someone who can.
Currently we have around 800 clients for whom we provide help and support. Our volunteers are kind, compassionate people who really do care about the clients whom they help & befriend, often going way beyond what is expected of a volunteer to ensure that our clients aren't left alone & isolated. We really do appreciate their time & efforts & we know our clients and their families are extremely grateful for their dedication.
Our volunteers provide friendship & support to anyone who is finding life a little difficult. That could be due to illness, a disability or as a result of reduced mobility.
